Position Details

Position Duties and Responsibilities

•Designs, plans, and implements automated processes that ensure data integrity and accuracy. Develops and evaluates test plans for new system implementations and upgrades. Regularly updates the system to comply with federal and state mandated guidelines. Prioritizes all Banner upgrade and patches projects in collaboration with Information Technology Banner team to include both short and long-term timelines.

Maintains regular communication and works collaboratively with Information Technology Banner staff and educational personnel for the proactive (trouble-shooting) identification of areas for improvement/ enhancement, assessment of the status of current projects, and monitoring the effectiveness of changes implemented. Troubleshoots, analyzes, detects, identifies and corrects technical problems and deficiencies.

Reviews, evaluates, coordinates, tests and approves installation of vendor supplied application system upgrades and patches. Develops designs, builds, tests, implements, maintains and enhances financial aid information system tables, codes, and security.

Manages and controls access to financial aid systems and is responsible for its accuracy, security, privacy protection and business continuity. Ensures compliance with, and develop overall processes, guidelines, and operational procedures for the Banner program.

Provides specialized systems expertise and programs to generate special reports, statistical summaries and records and assists analysts and end-users used in preparing and generating/developing ad hoc reports or queries, spreadsheets and lists. Assesses future system application needs.

Configures programs and updates application portal pages, schedules and runs production jobs to ensure data and information is available for making informed decisions.

Establishes and initiates processing schedules financial aid system functions and develops action plans to alleviate any identified weaknesses in the functionality of Banner.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, or other relevant subject and (5) years of relevant experience.

•Knowledge of data extraction, report creation, data integrity, and enterprise tools

•Demonstrate strong analytical and cognitive thinking skills

•Strong oral and written communication skills

•Strong computer and software skills

•Ability to lead, direct, and guide staff

•Ability to organize and execute multiple priorities

•Results oriented with an ability to manage multiple projects or tasks
