Position Details

Position Duties and Responsibilities

•Provides information on a wide variety of topics to diverse audiences.

•Performs book shelving within the Library. Must be able to ACCURATELY shelve library books on both upper and lower shelves. Training will be provided.

•Assists new students with establishing Banner Self-Service, Blackboard, and email accounts.

•Assists customers with print stations and digital scanners.

•Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled St. Louis Community College student with a High School diploma or equivalent. Preference will be given to full-time students.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of computers, student information system (Banner), Microsoft Office Applications, copier, printer, phone, email, library classification system.

Excellent customer service and problem solving skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with others, accurately identify a situation and respond appropriately, handle a high volume of electronic and face-to-face communication, follow multi-step directions, adapt to new technology and changing environment, understand the importance of placing shelving materials according to the Dewey Decimal System (training provided).

Special Instructions to Applicants

Generally works in an office environment. Evening and/or weekend hours required.

Ability to use standard office equipment, lift up to 30 pounds and bend, stoop, and push book or computer carts.
