Position Details

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides information on a wide variety of topics to diverse audiences;
• Performs clerical support function for departments;
• Prepares, facilitates, & implements informational sessions, including but not limited to New Student Orientation & New Student Registration Workshops;
• Provides direction & leadership to Student Affairs Assistant I in the preparation, implementation, & organization of informational sessions and/or campus events;
• Provides organizational management during related campus events, information sessions, etc.;
• Provides guidance to students & faculty on enrollment policies & procedures & the enrollment process;
• Assists new students with establishing Banner Self-Service, Blackboard, & email accounts;
• Assists students with resetting Banner-Self Service password;
• Assists with online applications & registration;
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled college or university student with a High School diploma or equivalent, over three (3) months of relevant full-time experience, or any combination of education, training, & experience that provides the required knowledge & abilities. Preference will be given to full-time students currently enrolled in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, Student Affairs Administration, Communication, or similar education field. Preference will be given to former community college students.

Preferred Qualifications

• 90 or more hours of college credit;
• Knowledge of computers, student information system (Banner), Microsoft Office, scheduling in Outlook, copier, printer, multi-line phone, & email;
• Customer service, problem solving, & critical thinking skills;
• Ability to communicate effectively with others & accurately identify a situation & respond appropriately;
• Handle a high volume of phone, electronic, & face-to-face communications;
• Follow multi-step directions & adapt to new technology & changing environments;
• Present in front of a variety of audiences & use PowerPoint & related presentation equipment.
