Position Details

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Provides information on a wide variety of topics to diverse audiences

Performs clerical support function for departments

Prepares, facilitates, and implements informational sessions, including but not limited to New Student Orientation and New Student Registration Workshops.

Provides direction and leadership to Student Affairs Assistant I in the preparation, implementation and organization of informational sessions and/or campus events.

Researches and reports on best practices, comparisons with benchmark schools, and current literature

Provides organizational management during related campus events, information sessions, etc.

Provides guidance to students and faculty on enrollment policies and procedures and the enrollment process.

Assists Campus Life Office staff with student leadership development.

Assists student clubs and organizations, student government, and student activities.

Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled college or university student with a High School diploma or equivalent, over three (3) months of relevant full-time experience,or any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

60 or more hours of college credit.

Knowledge of computers, student information system (Banner), Microsoft Office, scheduling in Outlook, copier, printer, multi-line phone, and email.

Customer service, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with others, accurately identify a situation and
respond appropriately, handle a high volume of phone, electronic and face-to-face communication, follow multi-step directions, adapt to new technology and changing environment, present in front of a variety of audiences, use PowerPoint and related presentation equipment.

Preference will be given to full-time students currently enrolled in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, Student Affairs Administration, Communications or similar education field.

Preference will be given to former community college students.

Special Instructions to Applicants

Position could be used for internship or practicum credit, pending approval of academic institution.
