Position Details

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for development, management, coordination and completion of institutional research and policy analysis related to: student learning outcomes, student engagement, labor market conditions, course and program evaluation, administrative and academic policy, strategic and operational planning, and enrollment management. Prepares state and federal accountability reports and reports to the Higher Learning Commission. Uses business intelligence tools to develop and deploy decision support products. Serves as a consultant to functional units of the college regarding access to and use of data and information and advises on data quality and integrity.

PRIMARY DUTIES PERFORMED:
•Develops, manages, coordinate and completes student learning outcome and student engagement assessment to improve institutional effectiveness.
•Develops, manages, coordinates, and completes research and data analysis support for faculty and staff with regard to academic and institutional policy analysis, course and program evaluation and development, strategic and operational planning, enrollment management and institutional accreditation.
•Serves as the interface between the functional and technical users of the enterprise resource planning software and the user community; provides expertise in data collection, data quality and integrity, and reporting demands and needs.
•Collaborates to support the maintenance of the College’s data warehouse. Specific attention is directed to continuous improvement of the data warehouse’s functionality, data validity and reliability.
•Advises and collaborates on maintenance of the College’s business intelligence decision-support foundation/system. Specific attention must be directed to working with faculty and staff to provide necessary modifications to the foundation/system.
•Provides information to stake holders through the department’s internet-based information access portal.
•Provides leadership in assessment and evaluation of programs and services for district-wide and campus-based projects and initiatives.
•Provides technical expertise and develops and provides training to college-wide administrators, faculty and staff with regard to the College’s business intelligence system.
•Develops, manages, coordinates and completes the analysis and reporting of institutional data to state, federal, and other external agencies regarding accountability and funding standards.
•Develops, manages, coordinates and completes research and analysis of external conditions (e.g., population, social, economic trends) that impact on College.
•Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Examples: A bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience or a master’s degree and two (2) years of relevant full-time experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education. Experience with Ellucian (Banner) ERP system, relational database query design, and writing basic SQL statements. Experience with IBM Cognos reporting tool and building interactive reports. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituents. Excellent communication skills.
