Position Details

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as a receptionist in the College Writing Center, greeting students and faculty in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner. Ensure that students using the CWC check in and out on the Accutrack scanners. Help facilitate traffic flow in the CWC. Assist students with basic questions about saving and printing papers, using Blackboard to access assignment sheets, and using Microsoft Office programs, including Word and PowerPoint. Input data on tutoring sessions into the CWCs data management program. Perform office tasks such as making copies, filing, etc. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must be a registered St. Louis Community College student prior to applying for a student worker position. Must maintain student status during employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to help diverse learners feel comfortable and welcome in the CWC. Practices professional behavior, including punctuality, and appropriate language and demeanor. Possesses working knowledge of computers, student information systems (Banner, Blackboard, email), and Microsoft Office programs.
